Proctor Information

We are always looking for new volunteers for exam day. If after reviewing the guidelines below you are interested in assisting with the examination process, please contact the Certification / Examination Chair.

GUIDELINES FOR ASSISTING AT AN EXAMINATION Requirements and restrictions:

  1. You must be a member of good standing in the ASQ with a current certification**
  2. You will have to sign an ASQ Certification Confidentiality & Conflict of Interest sheet:
    1. agreeing that you will NOT be an instructor for a refresher course for any of the certifications you are proctoring, for a period of twelve months from that exam offering
    2. agreeing that you will NOT apply for any of the certifications you are proctoring, for a period of twelve months from that exam offering
    3. agreeing keep confidential all materials and test related information you have learned through contact with the exams, examinees and the exam process in general
  3. agree to conduct the testing process impartially, with trust and integrity

The time requirements on the exam day include:

  • Arrive to the exam site by 7:15 AM
  • Remain at the exam site until the testing is completed and assist in cleanup of the facilities used (approximately 1:15 PM)**
  • For your help in the examination process, the ASQ offers you Recertification Units (RUs) toward renewing your current certification(s):

  • 1.0 RU for being the Chief Proctor for an examination day
  • 0.5 RU for being an Assistant Proctor for an examination
  • 0.25 RU for being a Registration Assistant for an examination
  • ** The Examination chair must be notified and approve all exceptions.
